Instructor: Cal Fawell. This course meets MWF 11:15 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. in DE 305.

This course is about how to identify, analyze, and evaluate arguments by other people, and how to construct arguments. Topics include argument reconstruction, informal logic, fallacies, introductory formal logic, probabilistic reasoning. It will have four units:

Unit I: Some prerequisites to reasoning and arguing
Unit II: Deductive reasoning
Unit III: Inductive reasoning
Unit IV: Fallacies
