Instructor: Krasi Filcheva. This course meets MW 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. in CW 105.
This course will serve as an introduction to metaphysics. We will engage with classic and contemporary writings on some of the key questions concerning the nature of the world and our place in it. Why does the universe exist? What is the nature of time? What is the mind’s relationship with the body? How should we understand the idea of “freedom of the will,” and what are the challenges to our self-conception as free and responsible beings?
