Instructor: Jennifer Morton. This course meets TR 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. via remote synchronous (RS) instruction.

This course will focus on poverty using the multidisciplinary tools of PPE. We will discuss questions such as: What is poverty? What makes poverty unjust (if anything)? What are poverty traps? What role do the poor play in their own poverty? How do gender and race relate to poverty? Are policies that aim to help people escape poverty paternalistic?  Who is obligated to help the poor?

This course is for graduating senior PPE minors who have (1) taken the 384 Gateway course and (2) have taken (or are taking) all other courses necessary to complete the PPE minor.
