PHIL 105.001 – How to Reason and Argue: An Introduction to Critical Thinking
Instructor: Chris Blake-Turner. This course meets MWF 8:00 – 8:50 a.m. via remote synchronous (RS) instruction.
This course is about learning how to think critically. That doesn’t mean being skeptical of everything or always trying to win debates. Thinking critically is rather about trying to deepen your understanding by scrutinizing your own beliefs and values, as well as those of others. As well as learning how to identify and evaluate arguments, you will learn how to make your own rationally compelling arguments.
