This is an upper-level course that focuses on some of the central questions in metaphysics. These include: What is the nature of time? Is there a fundamental asymmetry between the past and the future? Can we change the past? Are the past and the future real? Is time travel possible? What is the nature of a person? Can there be free will in a deterministic world? What is it for a fact to be possible?
