Instructor: Dana Falkenberg. This course meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:00 – 12:50 p.m. in Caldwell 103.

In this class we will examine theories of human nature, theories of what constitues a meaningful human life, and the relation of others to one’s self-conception .  Readings will include Hobbes, Butler, Sartre, Heidegger, Berlin and Frye.  Active participation in critical discussion is required.

Half of the course seats are reserved for first-year students.
