Instructor: Enoch Lambert. This course meets TR 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. in PH 328.

What is a mind and how does one work? What does it take to have a mind? It may be no exaggeration to say that more progress has been made on these questions in the last 60 years than in all previous history. “Cognitive Science” is the interdisciplinary field that gathers what progress has been made and continues the search for more. We will examine the historical and philosophical foundations of this field. We will also address outstanding problems in the field such as what is intelligence, and can it be objectively measured?

Prerequisite: at least 1 PHIL course.
