PHIL 164.001 – Morality and Business
Instructor: Alexander Jech. This course meets TR 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. in PE 216.
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to philosophical and ethical modes of reflection upon the nature and normative features of the activity of business. In particular we will be concerned with the role of business and work in human life individually and in the larger community, some fundamental differences between kinds of work, and some of the conflicts and challenges created by competing demands on business. Two papers will be required.
