How do the social sciences explain human actions? Are there social facts over and above facts about various individuals? Are there laws of human behavior? What is the relationship between the social sciences and other sciences such as biology? Do values enter into social science? We will address these and other questions with a focus on archeology, economics, history, psychology, and socio-cultural anthropology.
