PHIL 110H.001 – Honors: Philosophical Texts that Changed the World: An Introduction to Philosophy through Great Works

Instructor: Alan Nelson. This course meets TR 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. in CW 103.

An introduction to philosophy via great works focussing on romantic and erotic love.  We will study readings by Plato, Proust, Woolf, Beauvoir, etc. and view related films by Akerman, Soderbergh, Potter, etc.  Students will write short reaction papers, a take-home midterm and a take-home final exam.
