Social Ethics and Political Thought (PHIL 170 Section 001)
Instructor: Jonny Anomaly. This course meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:00 – 1:50 p.m. in Greenlaw 431.
This course will consider four central questions in political philosophy: Why do political societies exist? What is the proper role of the state in the economic affairs of its citizens? What are the moral limits of state authority over the self-regarding actions of its citizens? To what extent, if any, should citizens participate in political life?
