PHIL 280.001 – Morality and Law
Instructor: Brookes Brown. This course meets MW 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. in PE 216.
This class will consider the ethical questions we face as subjects and makers of law. Topics to be considered include the justification of punishment, the appropriate role of morality in law-making, duties to obey the law, the moral permissibility of judicial review, and rights of privacy. The course will emphasize participation, close-reading, and writing.
