PHIL/POLI/ECON 384.002 – Gateway to Philosophy, Politics, and Economics

Instructor: Simone Gubler. This course meets TR 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. in MU 204.

This interdisciplinary course provides an overview of some of the core conceptual tools used to analyze issues at the intersection of philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE). A range of theoretical topics are covered, including game theory, property, markets, social choice, distributive justice, and voting. We will read classical and contemporary sources on these topics, and explore their applications to contemporary social issues ranging from climate change, healthcare, nudging, and universal basic income, to the attention economy and inequality.
