PHIL 273.001 – Justice, Rights, and the Common Good: Philosophical Perspectives on Social and Economic Issues
Instructor: Kirun Sankaran. This course meets MWF 12:20 – 1:10 p.m. in PE 3050.
This class will focus on philosophical issues surrounding violence. Lots of interesting political philosophy comes out of times of social and political turmoil, and we’ll examine some historical and contemporary writings in normative political philosophy about how to think about and deal with widespread violence. What’s wrong with it, and how should we think about how to live together in light of it?
