PHIL 101.001 – Introduction to Philosophy: Central Problems, Great Minds, Big Ideas
Instructor: Yan Chen. This course meets MTWRF 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. via remote synchronous (RS) instruction.
This course is an introduction to some of the key issues in philosophy. Questions that we will study include: Can we know whether we are living in a simulated reality? What is the nature of consciousness? Do we have free will? Is morality objective? Can human life be meaningful? Through engaging with these topics, you will develop critical thinking, reading, and writing skills. No prior knowledge or experience in philosophy is required.
