Instructor: Vida Yao. This course meets MTWR 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in CW 103.

In this course, we will engage with one of the oldest philosophical questions: How should we live? We will begin by exploring two powerful and compelling theories of moral rightness, before then considering what role morality plays in our lives. We will read both historical philosophical figures such as Mill, Kant, and Nietzsche, as well as contemporary philosophical figures such as Peter Singer, Onora O’Neill, Bernard Williams, and Susan Wolf.
