PHIL 230.001 – Mind, Matter, and Metaphysics: the Philosophy of Experience and Reality
Instructor: Dominik Berger. This course meets MWF 9:05 – 9:55 a.m. in GL 302.
The course will be an introduction to some of the central issues in Epistemology, Metaphysics and Philosophy of Mind and will cover questions like the following: Can we know that there is an external world? What is the relationship between your conscious mind and your brain? What makes you the same person that you were a year ago? Do people have free will? What is the nature of time? This course does not require any prior background in Philosophy.
