Political Philosophy from Hobbes to Rousseau (PHIL 470/001)

A study of central topics in modern political philosophy–authority, justice, law, rights, obligation–focusing on Hobbes, Locke, Hume, and Kant, with, perhaps, a sideways look at other important figures in philosophy of law in the 17th century.
