Instructor: Finnur Dellsen. This class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 – 9:50 a.m. in Caldwell 103.

This course introduces students to philosophical thinking through reading and discussing of some of the most influential philosophical texts ever written. These include historically significant texts by authors such as Plato, René Descartes, David Hume, Harriet Taylor, John Stuart Mill, and Bertrand Russell. Besides introducing students to the ideas and arguments of these philosophers, the course aims to equip students with some general resources to understand and evaluate philosophical arguments as they are presented in original texts.
