PHIL 112.001 – Making Sense of Ourselves
Instructor: C.D.C. Reeve. This course meets MW 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in CW 103.
The course is a critical assessment of the attempts made by a series of influential writers and thinkers (Descartes, Dostoyevsky, Nietzsche, St. Anselm, St. Matthew, Tolstoy) to understand us, our lives, and our moral values. It presupposes a willingness to think in an open-minded and non-dogmatic way about religion (primarily Christianity).
