Instructor: Douglas MacLean. This seminar meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-3:15PM.

We will examine some of the well-known “proofs” for the existence (or the non-existence) of God.  Attempts to prove (or disprove) the existence of God go back at least to St. Anselm and St.Thomas Aquinas and continue to contemporary times.  What are these proofs supposed to accomplish?  Who is the intended audience?  How do critics respond?  Is there a necessary conflict between science and faith?
