Instructor: Raye Ploeger. This course meets via remote, mostly asynchronous (RM) instruction.

This is a course about how to identify, analyze, and evaluate arguments by other people, as well as about how to construct your own arguments. Topics include argument reconstruction, informal logic, fallacies, introductory formal logic, and probabilistic reasoning. We will progress through four units that are designed to provide students with a variety of tools for understanding, evaluating, and constructing arguments:

Unit I: Introduction to Arguments
Unit II: Deductive Reasoning
Unit III: Inductive Reasoning
Unit IV: Fallacies
