Instructor: Rebecca Walker. This course meets W 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. in CW 213.

This is a course about the ethics of our engagement with nonhuman animals. We will focus on different theory approaches, including the “political turn” in animal ethics, as well as various practices such as biomedical research, keeping animal companions, eating animals, and “rewilding” ecological spaces. Roughly two-thirds of the course will be oriented to theory and around one-third on practical applications.
