Reading Course in Feminist Theory
A reading course (no papers, but class presentations) surveying issues in feminist theory, aimed to be of interest to those with and those without any background in feminist philosophy. Topics will include the meaning of oppression, sex and gender, equality, sexism; feminist ethics; rape, pornography, standards of beauty, workplace discrimination; intersectionality. Readings will include but not be restricted to classics (also, a lot of my favorite works) by authors such as Marilyn Frye, Sandra Bartky, Iris Young, and Catharine MacKinnon.
