Research Reading Group (PHIL 990/001)
Instructor: Keith Simmons. This group meets on Wednesdays from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. in Caldwell 213.
My Readings Course in the Fall will be centered on truth, and its connections to realism, meaning, metaethics, assertion, vagueness, and the paradoxes. A running theme will be the ongoing debate between the substantivist about truth and the deflationist. My plan is for us to read a number of carefully selected, very recent papers on these topics, so that we’ll exactly where the current debates are.
