Instructor: L.A. Paul. This seminar meets on Wednesdays from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m. in Caldwell 213.

There has been a surge of interest in the metaphysical notions of fundamentality, ontological dependence, ontological categories and grounding. Tied to these notions are ideas involving realization, constitution, composition, truthmaking, supervenience, priority, reduction and nonreduction. The seminar will investigate these topics and ways they are related by looking at a range of recent and forthcoming articles by Bennett, Cameron, Dasgupta, Fine, Jenkins, Koslicki, Paul, Rosen, Schaffer, Sider, van Inwagen, and others.
