Many congratulations to talented philosophy major Ellie Riggsbee for having been admitted to the highly selective 2023 Colorado Summer Seminar in Philosophy! This seminar, taught by philosophy faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder, is intended for outstanding advanced undergraduates who are considering graduate school in philosophy. The aim is to introduce students to the atmosphere of a graduate-level seminar, giving them a chance to explore their philosophical abilities and interests before they commit to a graduate program. The topic of this year’s seminar is “Norms and Values.”
Ellie’s participation in the Seminar will be funded through the James Lesher Opportunity Fund, a generous endowment made by James and Eleanor Lesher to the UNC philosophy department. The endowment funds undergraduates studying philosophy in taking advantage of special philosophical opportunities such as the Colorado Summer Seminar.
