PPE Speaker Series: “Economics and Artificial Intelligence” with Tyler Cowen (George Mason)

Abstract:

How will current and future generations of Large Language Models affect economic productivity? Labor markets? Education? Our politics and political economy? What about the practice of economics itself?

 

Speaker Bio:

Tyler Cowen has a Ph.D in economics from Harvard University and is currently a professor of economics at George Mason University. He has edited the volume Public Goods and Market Failures, and has written Explorations in the New Monetary Economics with Randall Kroszner. His most recent book, The Complacent Class: The Self-Defeating Quest for the American Dream was published January 2017. Tyler writes a column for Bloomberg View and contributes daily to The MarginalRevolution blog. His very popular ethnic dining guide for Washington, DC, spotlights restaurants in the Maryland, Virginia, DC area.
