
Jessica Keiser will join the department at UNC in July 2025. She received her PhD in philosophy from Yale University in 2017, and spent the following year as a post-doctoral fellow at the Australian National University. Prior to coming to UNC, Jessica was an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Leeds (where she was a Marie Curie Fellow from 2018-2020). Her research is located at the intersection of philosophy of language and social/political theory, focusing on how language is used to direct attention for the purposes of achieving diverse social and political goals.
