Dan is the Co-Director of the Psychiatry, Philosophy and Mental Health Program based in the UNC Department of Psychiatry. He organizes the Carolina Seminar on Philosophy, Ethics and Mental Health and the annual UNC Philosophy and Psychiatry Conference. He is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and resident physicians in Psychiatry. His current research is in the areas of Psychiatric Ethics, Neuroethics, Neurolaw and Global Health Ethics.
