Andrew Rubner is currently finishing a Bersoff Faculty Fellowship at NYU. Prior to that he did his graduate work at Rutgers University under the supervision of Susanna Schellenberg.
His main interests lie in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of cognitive science, but I also have teaching and research interests in the philosophy of biology, general philosophy of science and the philosophy of language. My current work focuses on the nature of representational notions in cognitive science (especially in perception science), and the nature of explanation in cognitive science. My research has appeared in journals such as Philosophy Compass, and Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, and will in appear in the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science.
Andrew will be joining the Department in July 2026.
