Allan Silverman is Professor of Philosophy at The Ohio State University and a Faculty Fellow at its Mershon Center for International Security Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Classical Philosophy at UC Berkeley (1985) and has been a visiting professor at Howard, Yale, Pittsburgh and Berkeley. He is the author of numerous articles on Aristotle and especially Plato, as well as The Dialectic of Essence (Princeton, 2002).
