At their annual meeting today, the Department’s tenured and tenure-track faculty adopted the following diversity statement:
“The non-discrimination policy of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (http://policies.unc.edu/policies/nondiscrim/) states that we are “committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment.” This applies to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to our campus. The policy further states that the University does not “discriminate on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or veteran status.” The Department of Philosophy endorses this policy and opposes any attempt to weaken or undermine the University’s commitment to promoting diversity and equality.”
