The Langman Family Fund of New York has made a $1 million gift to support the Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) Program in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The expendable gift, which will provide $200,000 annually to the program over the next five years, will be used to support two visiting professorships and two graduate teaching fellowships. In addition, the gift will fund an annual national PPE conference, which will bring PPE undergraduates from across the country to UNC to explore fundamental issues in political economy, and an annual PPE research workshop, which will include top scholars from around the world to discuss cutting-edge research at the intersection of philosophy, politics and economics. The gift will also support a series of speakers discussing central PPE issues and other related events.
