Instructor: Matthew Kotzen. This course meets on R 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. in CW 208.

David Lewis was one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century.  His work impacts nearly every branch of philosophy, including metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, philosophy of logic, decision theory, philosophy of mind, ethics, and political philosophy.  We will read and discuss Lewis’s writings on a variety of topics, with a focus on how these papers fit together into a coherent philosophical program. There will also be an emphasis in the class on developing professional philosophical skills, including presentation, discussion, and rewriting.
