Instructor: Jonathan Anomaly. This course meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30PM – 5:50PM in Dey 206. This course meets at Duke for the first half of the semester.

This interdisciplinary course provides an overview of some core conceptual tools used to analyze issues at the intersection of philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE). It also serves as the Gateway course for the PPE certificate program at Duke and the PPE minor at UNC. Topics covered will include the moral status of markets, distributive justice, liberty and paternalism, and the use of economic models to understand the behavior of voters and policymakers.

Please note:  Permission of the instructor is required for enrollment in this class.  Preference is given to those who have declared the PPE minor.

This course satisfies the PH general education requirement.
