Instructor: M. Adams. This course meets on Thursdays from 4:00-6:30PM.

An examination of the metaphysics and epistemology of three medieval Aristotelians: Thomas Aquinas, Duns Scotus, William Ockham.  Topics will include the problems of universals and individuation, the metaphysical structure of composites vs immaterial substances (God, angels, human souls), cognitive psychology, and scepticism vs reliability.  Some facility with philosophical analysis and/or familiarity with Aristotle will be helpful.
