Introduction to Aesthetics (PHIL 185/001)
Instructor: Ben Bagley. This course meets Monday – Friday from 9:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. in Caldwell 208.
What is art? Why we care about it so much? This course will introduce students to basic ways of answering these basic questions, and along the way consider some interesting features of art and artistic experience, such as humor, creativity, and tragedy, and philosophical issues posed by different media, such as the visual arts, music, film, and performance.
