Instructor: Simon Blackburn. This course meets TR 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. in CW 105.

This course is centered on some of the main problems of philosophy: problems of metaphysics (free will, God, personal identity, the nature of the self), epistemology (knowledge, scepticism, science and scientific method), and meaning. Historical writings are used to indicate the ways these problems have involved great philosophers. As well as the set texts there will be further resources posted online.
