Existentialism (PHIL 224)
Instructor: L.A. Paul. This course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. in Caldwell 213.
We’ll be exploring a selection of 20th-century work in phenomenology and existentialism in order to get a sense of the role of subjectivity and the subjective conscious perspective in the way we make sense of the world. We’ll start with some Husserl, continue with Heidegger and finish with some contemporary American philosophers.
