Daniel Moseley and UNC Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Dr. Gary Gala coordinate the Philosophical Issues in Psychiatry Research Group.
Daniel's current research focuses on (1) ethical issues in economics (economic rationality; property rights; basic income; exploitation), (2) philosophical issues in psychiatry (the nature of mental disorder; the relation of irrationality to mental disorder; decisional capacity; varieties of addiction), (3) virtue ethics (theories of character, virtue, integrity, agency, action, and moral commitment), and (4) political philosophy (ideal v. non-ideal theory; left-libertarianism; political legitimacy; punishment).
