Instructor: Gerald Postema. This seminar meets on Wednesdays from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. in Caldwell 103.

A study of central topics in modern political philosophy–authority, justice, law, rights, obligation–focusing on Hobbes, Locke, Hume, and Kant, with, perhaps, a sideways look at other important figures in philosophy of law in the 17th century.

This course will fulfill the Value requirement.
